Josh McDonald, age 41, currently serves on the Capital Farm Credit Advisory Board Committee. Josh works with three segments of Capital Farm Credit through his businesses: local credit offices, commercial agriculture group, a capital markets.

Josh started his farming business at age 15, renting a farm to grow crops and stocker cattle. He is now a partner and CFO at Blue Sky Farms, a family-owned, multi-site dairy and farming operation based in Friona, Texas. Blue Sky Farms operations consist of dairy, alfalfa, cotton, and grain farming throughout the Panhandle, South Plains, and Central areas of Texas. In addition, Blue Sky Farms is a partner in Select Milk, the creator of Core Power and Fairlife milk.

Josh also owns Sea Scrolls, a real estate company focused on investment and development in rural towns. In addition, he is a partner in an accounting services company based in Canyon, Texas. This company provides financial management for dairy farms, crop farms, and ag retailers.

Josh is a graduate of West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas, where he obtained a Master’s degree in professional accounting. He is also a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington D.C., where he earned a Master’s degree in commercial real estate development. Josh maintains a relationship with West Texas A&M University by offering hands-on learning to students on our dairy farm.

Josh served as the state delegate on the Parmer County Soil and Water Conservation District Board for five years. He is a High Plains Underground Water District advisory board member. Josh also serves on the board of Created With a Purpose of West Texas, a life-affirming Christ-based pregnancy organization. He is the finance council president at St. Ann’s Church in Bovina.

Josh lives in Lazbuddie, Texas, with his family. He married his wife, Kristen, 18 years ago, and they have two children: Aidan and Jacey. This fall, Aidan will attend Cornell University, and Jacey will be a sophomore at Lazbuddie High School.
